Connect SpareRoom without handing over your password

SpareRoom has no public API and doesn’t allow bots on your account. So Roommatch works the safe way: you forward the enquiry emails SpareRoom already sends you, and we do the reading, scoring and drafting.

1

Copy your private inbox address

Every Roommatch account gets its own forwarding address. Nothing else can post to it.

2

Add a forwarding rule in your email

In Gmail or Outlook, forward anything from noreply@spareroom.co.uk to that address. Takes about a minute.

3

Enquiries arrive scored and drafted

We read the enquiry, pull out budget, move-in date and occupation, score the fit and write a reply for you to approve.

4

You send from your own account

Replies are copied back to you to send on SpareRoom. We never log in as you or touch your password.

Why not just log in to SpareRoom?

SpareRoom’s terms don’t permit third-party tools to access or message from your account, and shared logins put your listings at risk of suspension. Email forwarding keeps you inside their rules: the enquiries are already yours, and every reply still goes out from you.
